Dooley and Me- Part 10 - Locals
This is Dooley, and his new best friend, Gibbs. Gibbs is a local. He lives here with his human, Heather. They’ve been showing Dooley all the cool places to hang out. The best off-leash trails, the places where you can run and run and run and run …, meet other locals, find the best treats, and who has them … get stuck in several feet of snow, dig your way out … the kind of places locals used to take me skiing! (Yup, until I rode back to town in a sled) He’s also learned some good safety tips, like avoiding ice between the pads of his feet, … that can be painful, but Dooley can be like a lot of children I know, gloves, boots and sweaters are just too much trouble!
I have met many locals since I’ve been here. Most have been good folks you can trust, some not so much, but you can learn something from everyone you meet and everywhere you go. I would recommend that you keep your wits about you and not just take off down a trail, into the woods, (or a bar, or a pool hall ….) because it looks like fun! It may be more than you handle … (I’m speaking metaphorically of course …… maybe)
Here’s a picture of some of my buds … sometimes they follow me … sometimes I follow them!
